Geminids Meteor shower, Astronaut claim to feel satisfied

Geminids meteor shower which is considered the best of this year reached its peak last night. Space enthusiasts around the world also witnessed an extraordinary performance.

“Rain of the best meteor I’ve ever seen,” said James Champagne in SpaceWeather.com site who view the Geminids meteor shower from Arizona. Champagne also upload photographs of the Geminid meteor shower to the site SpaceWeather.com.

“The show is really impressive,” wrote Champagne at SPACE.com. “Looking five to seven meteors per minute is normal. Sometimes there are two meteor at the same time.”

The annual Geminid meteor shower occurs in mid-December. Meteor shower occurs when Earth passed stone fragments wave space. When small stones are flying into the atmosphere, they burn and create a scene like a shooting star. Geminid meteors can be seen in the next few days, although the peak has passed.

“I saw 50 Geminids within two hours despite the very bright moonlight. So it was a good show this year, although not something extraordinary,” said Guillaume Cannat who watch a meteor shower is in the south of France.

From Cloudbait Observatory in the Colorado Rockies, Chris Peterson claimed to see a good show. “I saw 229 at the peak of the Geminids night and 363 in four nights,” writes Peterson. “I expect the peak of 120 meteors per hour.”
